She's just this guy, you know?

I'm a science fiction and fantasy writer. I like robots and dragons, silliness and literature, and if possible all of that together.

I'm also non-binary and disabled (I have chronic fatigue syndrome #MECFS).

Not related to my day job. No unsolicited advice, please.

*sings* It's beginning to look a lot like PICKLE, everywhere I go...
CHUTNEY INTENSIFIES.
Have started making spicy Greenish Tomato Chutney. Ish because I only have 300g of green tomatoes from the garden, so I am supplementing with store-bought. OH WELL. The chillies will be from my garden too.

Does anyone on Mastadon play #NoMansSky?

This is the Temple of Doom, which I made for Halloween, but am still adding to...

And then a bunch of jalapenos. Including the weird chunky short black-green ones that were meant to be jalapenos but I don't think they are...

PICKLING RESULTS.

(I swear, this is not just a #pickling account.)

First up, I pickled the sugar rush peach chillies whole (along with a couple of smaller jalapenos because there was room).

The jar closed and open.

"Ro," you may say, "no one needs to see this many photographs of shallots in a jar!"

I beg to differ.

Spices are mustard seeds, whole pepper corns, and Zimbabwe black chillies. 2/3rds filled with white vinegar and a little water, boiled. Topped up with malt vinegar and a little water, boiled.
I have peeled a frankly RIDICULOUS number of shallots today. #pickling

From @SarahGordon: "I'd like to see what your favourite piece of art by another artist is. It could be famous, or by someone in your class at college. Doesn't matter. Post a pic, along with title + an artist credit under the tag #artfavorites, then copy this text so other people can join in."

'The Gunslinger on the Beach' by Michael Whelan - I can't describe the feeling it evokes: haunting, calling, inspiring, disquieting. It's what I want from art and imagination.
