Opened up my home made pickled coli flower today.

Bought 3 heads for €5 at the farmers market in Nice last year and made this with broth from old store bought pickles, added some dill, chickpeas and home grown habanero and jalapeno peppers to it.

It's delicious, crunchy, spicy, not so salty. TBF, it needs a little more salt. But it's great to have with food in the coming days and weeks.

So I've been tasked with making pickled eggs and the version I made with beets, the kind you'd find at a bar, was viewed as "fine". I'm wondering whether anyone has a recipe to share that might wow. #eggs #pickling #cooking #food #recipe

I learned last night that you can make I Can't Believe It's Not Umeboshi from apricots, and this is going on my projects list for this year next to starting a nukadoko bed.

Still pretty dark here due to cloud cover, so not a lot of light in my pic, sorry.

I’ve started #pickling my big pear #tomatoes. So many!

for those that do #preserving and #pickling and what not, are the glass clip top jars any better or worse than reusing old jars (eg vegemite, peanut butter, garlic etc)?

I have found the jars with metal lids tend to rust a bit if you are doing pickles, so I am not super keen on going down the mason jar route
