PragerU is propaganda. It isn't, in any way, an academic organization. It's a YouTube channel that makes lecture-style videos that explicitly promote evangelical Christianity, political disinformation, anti-LGBTQ talking points, Islamophobia, and Anti-Semitism.
Its namesake is conservative talk radio host Dennis Prager. In no way, shape, or form should these videos be in America's classrooms.
PragerU, short for Prager University, is an American conservative organization that produces content to promote“Judeo-Christian values” to their millions of followers through short, lecture-style videos. Although it is not an academic institution, by using the word “university” in its title PragerU implies that the right-wing messaging they spread is factually correct and expert-driven. A number of PragerU’s videos spread anti-Muslim rhetoric and conspiracy theories.
Sad to see people fleeing the sinking ship of XTwitter and just not even considering this as an option. It just has to be some other centralized, corporate-controlled place run by the same three shitty techbros who have decades of experience ruining the Internet for all of us.
I feel glad for the many friends I do have here, but it's one of those moments where it feels like being principled really does leave you lonelier than you deserve to be.
When I give a talk about stalkerware, two things usually happen:
One person (usually a woman) walks up to me and tells me about the stalkerware/keylogger/physical tracker a partner used to stalk them.
Another person (usually a man) tells that they didn't know about this stuff and they can't even imagine the sort of person that would use it.
