Electrochromic windows on the 787 are very cool, both literally and figuratively, and effective. The only downside I can see, so far, is their slow rate of response.
Luminous super-blue-moon results in clear shadows, moderate conspicuity of outside furniture and brick paver pattern and a very bright white plastic picket fence. Horizontal illuminance on pavers with some cloud obstruction: 0.1 lux. CCT: 3600K, CRI: 91.6, S/P RATIO: 1.7

4) Here is the same simulation with an illuminance pseudocolor view for every surface pixel. There is no limit to what I can model using far-field RT - trees, curbs, objects - but not atmosphere. :(

2) Other ray tracing software (like Radiance) can take into account specular/semi-specular and transmissive surfaces and spectrum. I wonder if I could combine the strengths of AGi32 with your model, because AGi32 doesnt have scattered voxels.
Here is an example of an outdoor parking lot in AGI32 with a lambertian reflectance of 0.16 for the ground and 0.2 for the building.

Lots of light sources outside my hotel window but only minimal light trespass - 0.5 lux at the eye about 2 feet back from the window. With my UPRTEK MK350S mobile spectroradiometer. Maybe I should stop drinking coffee.
