Giallo January kicks off in a few hours at the Music Box Theatre. Tonight’s feature is All of the Colors of the Dark, directed by Sergio Martino, starring George Hilton & Edwige Fenech. The only Martino-directed film I’ve seen is The Case of the Scorpion’s Tail, which I loved for the sense of menace at every turn. #Giallo #SergioMartino

My previous post resulted in me finding that Reply Guys exist on Mastodon just as they do on 🐦. Oh well, such is life.

Partly that’s my fault, I didn’t ask the right question.

So, Mastodon: there’s a world of people who want to share their love of arts, news, culture, whatever they want to share.

Is Mastodon the place to do it? Can we do it without a rando stepping in to inform us we are doing it wrong?

Anyway - what do I have going on arts-wise? Big month at the Music Box: January Giallo! I’m all about that! Gonna have to see all of them, plus a few of the Billy Wilder matinees they have lined up! Giallo and Film Noir: those genres do some wild shit with eye contact, and some other devices. Really looking forward to it!

I’m going to be honest: I’m not sure about Mastodon. I’ve seen a lot of “tone policing.” That existed on Twitter, but if you had that and actual nazis, well, there’s the leaser of two evils, so… know what I mean? Like, have you considered that eye contact might be a trigger for some? You should put a warning on that pic of your grandpa.

Anyway, I have an account, I’m kind of waiting to see where all social media goes.
