Alvalanker is the moniker that multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter Daniel Simoes records under. His music tends to be stylistically fluid within rock parameters: Some of his pieces have a harder edge that drifts towards metal, others come with some prog flair mixed with atmospheric sounds, while others have a more familiar alt-rock structure. Quite a few of his tracks are instrumental, some of which show signs of video game music influences as well. His production has that relatively unpolished, raw texture that is characteristic of a DIY vibe that permeates his work.

3 years ago today: April 29th 2023 paper collage „kills [laughter].“ Although not intended, this one came out quite similar to the aesthetics of the early new wave and industrial music, which of course had a lasting effect back then on an impressionable (late teens) youth, i.e. me.

Dvojice Divider na nové desce vynulovala nostalgii a přitvrdila EBM tlak

Američané se hlásí s podivuhodnou dlouhohrající kolekcí. Kalifornské EBM duo Divider vzniklo už na konci devadesátých let v okolí Riverside a Los Angeles. Zakladatel Bryon Wilson si jméno projektu postupně spojil s ostrou elektronikou, militantní rytmikou a temnou, filmově laděnou atmosférou. V první polovině nultých let na sebe upozornil také remixy pro jména jako XP8, Diverje nebo Regenerator a později vydával i u Basic Unit Productions, labelu spojeného s Danielem Myerem z Haujobb, Architect a dalšími projekty. Zásadní obrat přišel v roce 2024, kdy se k Divider přidal Peter Beal. Jeho vokály a programování posunuly projekt směrem k sevřenější, konfrontačnější podobě. Právě tahle nová tvůrčí chemie tvoří základ alba "Zero". Jedná se o desku vystavěnou na mechanických groovech, ostrých syntezátorových linkách, hutných basech a hlasu, který se pohybuje mezi křikem, tlakem a temnější rezonancí.
