Looks like the Outback 1866. It's probably been released under multiple brand names. I mainly use my Outback 2012 on my campervan, stationary somewhere. Ultimately, however, mono-band antennas are more convenient because they're quicker to mount on the roof rack when switching to a different band than having to remove the antenna, adjust it, and then mount it back on the roof. But they do their job, and for truly portable use, you don't need to carry much.

The various MA-3800 antenna builds don't have jumper wires but a bottom coil and top section that can be adjusted.

The antenna with the jumper wires is Outbacker from Australia by VKLTC (only HF) or the Outback 1866 (6 bands plus 2/70) or Outback 2012 (9 bands plus 2/70) are by D-Original from Spain.

I have the last one, decent performer on 20/17/15/12/10. Comparable with AM-Pro monobanders for those bands. Other bands are receiving OK but TX wise not that good.

My secret weapon for having fun with QRP is… the other operator, they have good ears and low noise, they will pick you up in the most unfavourable conditions.

I have posted a codeplug for full-duplex FM satellite operating with the Anytone AT-D890UV in my Dropbox space, along with a README PDF file:

I ran four BBSes simultaneously on one OS/2 Warp PC in the late 90s. I had four dedicated phone lines. I used one BBS to retrieve car and motorcycle racing messages from the US for Fidonet and then distributed them throughout Europe. And vice versa, European car and motorcycle racing messages were sent back to the States via me. It was a great time, but it quickly ended when everyone could use internet in the late 90s. I stopped in mid-2001; I had virtually no users by then..

Gotta remember to listen for these beacons. In ITU R2, we could probably wangle an 8-m allocation, but don't hold your breath on the 4-m band - it's in the middle of TV Channel 4 and, yes, that still has stations on it. There is a gap near there, but it's between TV4 and TV5 and has stuff there (like the remaining Outer Markers).

I am stilled amazed how usable an Amiga is even today. Got Coffin OS running with a TCP/IP stack, web browser, IRC, ssh & scp, FTP, telnet (for BBS connections), Mastodon client, RSS reader, MP3-Player with streaming capabilities (AmigaAmp), VNC client, SMB, vim, Perl & Python. Do I need something else? :D
Wow, this post is being sent from the Amidon Mastodon Client from an Vampire Amiga with Coffin OS (AmigaOS 3.9).
Great visualization of all #space #launch over here. It’s really striking how much was going out of Plesetsk in the 80s. Like woah. Then the comparison with the last 5 years is of course … eyewatering. https://youtu.be/qJ7O2gigebQ?si=pynDNXVD-cDOqeFO
