[Project Rehstein 3D; Developer Diary 07.07.25]
Got something new to show. This time: Doors.
I implemented doors which the player can open and close, as long as they're not locked. Depending on the configuration, the doors can open upwards, to the left or to the right. Doors opened by a player will close automatically after a customisable amount of time.
I also made a test texture for bricks with a normal map for the wall, to test around a bit and gain experience with materials in Godot. It's not perfect, but I'd say it's not bad for a first attempt.

[Project Rehstein 3D; Developer Diary 30.06.25]
A bit over a week ago, I started working on a game projected named *Rehstein 3D*. As the name suggests, it's a boomer shooter that's mainly based on the grandfather of the shooter genre - *Wolfenstein 3D* by id Software. The idea is to combine the main gameplay from Wolfenstein 3D, with other design elements from later id Software games and modern shooters, as well as some modern graphic techniques.
The project is still in a very early stage at the moment however, as can be seen from the few current placeholder graphics from both Pony Town and Wolfenstein 3D itself. But otherwise the basics, i.e. movement, shooting, etc., those are already present and functional. Next things that I'll start working on are level elements like doors, level start, level exit, pick up and so on.
I'll post updates once I've got something new to show.
