The US Department of State, acting on orders of very questionable legality, destroyed my new, already printed, waiting to be picked up passport for only one reason: it listed my sex as "X".
Please help replace my passport.

Myself and half a dozen members of my immediate family all have phone numbers ending in the same 4 digits but noteably not my spouse. I got a call on my personal cell at work last week from a number with those digits. Family never calls me at work and I immediately jumped to the panicked conclusion something terrible had happened. Turned out to be a spammer and I guess mere coincidence (I mean if you were going to spoof caller ID to match numbers why not the whole thing). Still, that was probably the worse 30 seconds of the last ten years of my life. I'm getting fluttery just typing this out.

Anyway, they call them breviloquia (s breviloquium) which is honestly a great word even tho it’s not very brief itself.
