"Est-ce que, pour toi, les jours de soleil en hiver sont aussi tristes ? Quand il fait du brouillard, le soir, et que je marche seule, il me semble que la pluie traverse mon coeur et le fait tomber en débris."

Are the days of winter sunshine just as sad for you, too? When it is misty, in the evenings, and I am out walking by myself, it seems to me that the rain is falling through my heart and causing it to crumble into ruins.

In fact, today The NY Times has a house editorial about white supremacist violence called There Are No Lone Wolves. Let's push back against the NRA and politicians who would say otherwise.

Opinion | White Supremacists Are a Problem for America, and the World

Right-wing extremist violence in the U.S. is part of a global phenomenon. It should be treated that way.

@emptywheel American holiday so I say go all in on the weird American food. A few years ago we hosted a bunch of European friends for our Thanksgiving meal. To a person they thought it was weird, even exotic, but they also liked pretty much everything. (Not all were so sure about the candied yams with marshmallow) 😁😁
Democracy defenders have many reasons to be grateful this Thanksgiving

If you feel a spring in your step, you are not alone.

@ajgoulet I’m only occasionally on SGF. I play a lot of nonpedal in my band. I do own a nice PS S10 that Fred Justice (RIP) made for me, but I never put the time required to be fluent on it. I’m a lefty. Fred did mine like Scottie Baker’s—lefty on top but pedals are righty, since I was already so used to the volume pedal on my right.

Rage-engagement is still engagement.

Whatever nonsense he's up to on a given day, we can always signal-boost something else.

The latest jail sentences in the 1/6 prosecutions, for example. I'm all about giving those lots of attention.

@bschillace afaik, yes, you have to follow one at a time. Took me a few days to build my follies. Maybe someone knows a way to do it as a batch?
I’m a civil rights lawyer. I don’t want to practice before a Court that’s compromised. I want a fair Court. Expansion would make this particular Court more ideologically balanced. Agree. But w/o a real, enforced ethics infrastructure, there will be 18 justices not fully disclosing financials, not compelled to recuse, praying in chambers w/their own faith leaders, going on trips w/groups filing briefs in cases before them, owning stock in indiv companies whose interests are before the Court.

I wrote a piece for the New York Times about how scientists used Twitter during the Covid pandemic and about what comes next.
