@WilliamNB a work colleague once told me sucking mints keeps you awake because your body doesn’t want you to choke! Sounds like you could do with a multipack of polos.
@Mybelle make sure you watch the film CODA before you cancel your subscription! I’m on the mend now - probably not back on the bike for a while though. I’m taking it steady…

#OnThisDay, 20 Nov 1908, suffrage campaigner Millicent Fawcett became the first woman to speak at the Oxford Union debating society. Fawcett was the leader of the non-militant campaign for votes for women.

The Oxford Union was founded in 1823, and women were barred from being members until 1963.

@Mybelle I love a TV show recommendation - thank you! I’ve been sick with covid for 3 weeks now and have wasted hours of my life watching really rubbish ‘drama’ on BBC iPlayer!
@familoo ABE interview of a 4 year old 2 months after the alleged incident!! What a mess.
I see people against reinstating #Trump on #Twitter encouraging others to vote on #Musk’s #poll. I totally get where they’re coming from but this legitimises what he’s doing and moves it from a terrible joke to the results being taken seriously. I think that’s the plan, folks.
Never forget, a 13-year study of a dozen cities found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for ALL ROAD USERS. And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. As for sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them. Via #StreetsblogUSA, read their article linked below. #bikelanes #bikes #cities #transportation #mobility #sharrows #infrastructure #urbanplanning

Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says

Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikes and people in cars and on foot, a new study of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.

@BrentToderian so common for parking in cycle lanes - always feels unsafe for cyclists - exactly how this article describes - ‘Not all protected bike lanes provide the same level of security for cyclists and drivers. In Denver, for instance, some protected lanes have plastic bollards that are interspersed along the roadway, allowing cars and trucks to park in the bike path and forcing cyclists to swerve into the street.’
@tigresseleanor chilling statistics. Crazy we let it continue to rampage on. At the very least we need clean hepa-filtered air in indoor settings, mandatory masks in healthcare settings and the return of free testing.
