I was also an early adopter 25 years ago. The thing that I keep coming back to, is that TiVo 1.0 was a far better product than any other watch later device available today a full generation later.

DVR is just another technology that's been fully enshittified. That's the real shame.

@jsnell @siracusa I have this weird old memory of an experimental UI within Apple (or not?) in the 90’s that was a ‘spatial' UI where the user would sort of fly through directories. Does this ring any bell?
