The problem with Trans Awareness Week is that people are now aware of trans folk, given we're the subject of an ongoing international culture war.
Awareness isn't the problem. It's agency. We are spoken *about* all the time but we so rarely get to speak *for ourselves*, especially in big legacy media. It's why Twitter and similar spaces have been such a useful place for trans activists, journalists, and creators, because we are marginalised elsewhere.
Is Climate Change important to you?
Please boost so this question can get out in the wider world.
Will be interesting to see the end result.
Thank you 😊
Not sure if I'm neurotypical, primarily a creative person utilising creative content to effectively communicate narratives of #ClimateAction.
I sometimes struggle. Social media platforms can be mentally & physically draining. Continually trying to navigate a rigged democracy & BAU to enable #FutureGenerations to thrive, can be demoralising.
Enable inclusive community wellbeing & the vital understanding of the importance of ecological complexity.
I think one of the most cringy things about other social media platforms to me was watching people turn themselves into a “brand”. Real life “friends” posting ONLY the highlights reels of their life always seemed fake to me. I was late diagnosed with autism so I’ve spent a lot of my adult years trying to “unmask” my autistic traits. So, seeing a lot of neurotypicals try to brand themselves and sell only the highlights always seemed a lot like masking! Anyways, I think it’s cool if you have something to sell, a craft, your talent, whatever, but your art is not your entire self. I like when people post/toot about their struggles sometimes. It feels real and human. It gives me something tangible to connect to. It makes me feel like I’m not the only one struggling. A little vulnerability could really help someone else who is struggling. I‘ll never be a brand. I never want to be a brand. I’m just myself, the good the bad the ugly, and sometimes I’ll post the good. Sometimes I’ll post the bad, and sometimes I’ll post the ugly. I’m real. Raw and unmasked and I’m seeking real people to engage with not “brands”. #earlyam #thoughts #BeReal #MondayMood
The advantage of living by a north facing shore on Skye...
This is the Pink Fairy Armadillo.
They live in Argentina, have a furry bum to help them thermoregulate, and are around 3-4 inches long. It is said they can burrow through sand as fast as a fish can swim.
You're welcome.
