@MathewHounsell i say, preemptively dredge Mona Vale and set the insular peninsula afloat

"Albanese Government invests $100 million in pedestrian and cycleways"

"The Active Transport Fund will contribute up to $5 million per project to construct new or upgrade existing bicycle and walking paths, and is open to all state and territory governments and Local Government Authorities. "

It's not nothing, but it is a pretty tiny amount.

Bizarre to cut existing debts while maintaining high fees Job Ready Graduates. But fixing JRG would require on-budget support for unis, whereas HECS debt is off-budget. Disappointing to see Chalmers and Clare playing games like this

Labor to wipe 20 per cent of HECS debts in $16 billion move

Tradespeople and university graduates will have a fifth of their student loans wiped in a striking Labor pledge to ease the debt burden on younger Australians.

Doomed parts of #sydney. This is a geological map of Sydney and light yellow Qa marks loose sand. Looking at elevations the areas marked with arrows are at risk from sea level rises and associated undermining. The red lines indicate channels that may be cut into the terrain by the sea.
Bit by bit, the parking around Caulfield Racecourse (which is served by two major train lines, a tram and two bus routes) is being replaced by something more useful: housing! 🏢👍 #Melbourne
Hi everyone, there's good news and bad news. The good news is that I did another cartoon about climate change... https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/picture/2024/oct/28/scientists-have-discovered-that-earths-carbon-sinks-are-not-really-carbon-sinking-at-the-moment
Scientists have discovered that Earth’s carbon sinks are not really carbon sinking at the moment

Is that good? What does that even mean?

This is a highly clever idea, should be introduced to Australia.

"In Germany, apartment dwellers can buy portable solar panels for about $500 that hang on the balcony railing and plug into the mains via a standard power socket. They can reduce the dwelling’s power usage or feed into the grid, and residents can take it with them when they move."

A place in the sun: How to get solar to 2.5m apartment dwellers

Australia has the highest uptake of rooftop solar in the world, but the growing number of apartment dwellers have been left behind. This is how to turn the tables.

Save your life, do your cervical cancer screening with an at home test.

Australian Department of Health and Aged Care wrote on   'You have choices for cervical screening. You can choose to do the test yourself, or your doctor can do it for you. Women & people with a cervix aged 25-74 who have ever had sexual contact should screen every 5 years.'

Own It - It’s your Cervical Screening Test

Regular Screening Saves Lives. Over 70% of cervical cancers occur in individuals who have never been screened or aren’t up to date with their screening.

Them: We're forcing you to go back into the office because we believe work is more meaningful when employees are together and have a shared sense of comradery.

Me: So, unionize?

Them: No, not like that.
