an immigrant dog on stolen land | biodiversity = life | black lives matter | if it's not intersectional, it's not feminism | trans rights are human rights | LBGTI people all stand together or we all fall | she / her.

now all that is out of the way ... hello.

I managed to get out a handful of coherent thoughts amid the SQUEEEEEEE over #Rogue #DoctorWho https://www.theincomparable.com/dwf/81/
"Rogue" (S1E7) (Doctor Who Flashcast 81)

The roguish Jonathan Groff appears amid an extended riff on “Bridgerton.” Jason recommends a different Netflix series. Erika gives this episode a very high rating. Chip wonders about the metatextuality of it all. Was this episode for the cosplaying birds? Or could we not get it out of our heads?

No one will thank you
for the precautions you took
for the precautions you take
but know that a study has found
social distancing may have saved
some 800,000 lives
so expect no thanks
for you shall receive none
but take comfort in knowing
that lives have been saved
thanks to you.
Cold turkey
#DoctorWho is back and CARDS were most definitely LAID on the TABLE. I'll react more fully to each episode in later podcasts this week, but today let's look at why it was smart of Russell T Davies to be so Extra in the first episodes of New Series 1. https://twominutetimelord.com/2mtl-480-doctor-who-is-not-science-fiction/
2MTL 480: Doctor Who is Not Science Fiction - Two-minute Time Lord

The first episodes of Series 1 (not counting the Christmas Special) have finally launched, and there's RTD upon RTD on top of more RTD in "Space Babies" and "The Devil's Chord." We'll look at these episodes individually soon, but going that hard was a gutsy, even necessary choice.

Long Covid May Lead to Measurable Cognitive Decline, Study Finds

People with long Covid symptoms scored slightly lower on a cognitive test than people who had recovered. But long Covid patients who eventually got better scored as well as those whose symptoms did not last long.

One of my con sisters who isn't on social media tested positive for #Covid. She had a scratchy throat at dinner on Sunday (didn't we all from all the shouty convos), headache, runny nose, and cough starting yesterday. She didn't wear a mask.

Your little owl friend mostly did (took off for a photo, to chat with certain guests, to eat and drink). I just did a test, which is negative, and I have no symptoms.

Please monitor yourselves.🦉💦

Gotta pack for #Gally1...I'm a bit sad that my ribbons didn't arrive despite #RibbonsGalore trying TWICE to get them to me. It's not their fault. JEERS to #usps and #fedex for being shitty at the ONE job they had. I blame #LouisDeJoy. The usps has sucked since he took over. #FireLouisDeJoy
From #Gally1, warmest Birthday Greetings to the 9th #DoctorWho #ChristopherEccleston!
