Good fun on the 145 Alive 2m FM activity event yesterday. The map shows all the stations I worked (my QTH is the blue dot). Best DX was 95 miles. Pretty happy with that running 5W into a 3 ele Arrow 4.5m above ground. (QTH 100m ASL)
Made a nice satellite QSO via TEVEL-4 with Sergei (ES4RM) in Estonia using my FT70+Diamond RH770 whip antenna.
Yesterday, I set out on my first wx balloon/radio sonde hunt. Unfortunately it landed in the sea as is often the case for balloons that come my way. Still, it proved my tracker receiver and phone app were working but I need to put an external antenna on the car to make it more usable.
And here's how it sounds on a baofeng handie at a range of approx 17miles

Currently tracking radio sonde U4144428 from Larkhill.

SondeHub Tracker

Live tracking of radiosonde flights. Data via SondeHub v2. Includes weather overlay, predictions, and access to historic radiosonde flights on sondehub.

I worked the Greencube (IO-117) satellite today for the first time.

I managed to made 6 QSOs which was way better than I expected for a first attempt

Of those six, 4 were first time QSOs and I got 5 new grid squares and 2 new DXCC entities πŸ˜€

Right, who's a physics nerd?

A good day on the satellites yesterday.

1⃣ First QSO with Stephane F4CNH ==> new grid 🌐JN03 (πŸ›°οΈSO50)
2⃣ First QSO with Andy 4J6D
==> new grid+DXCC 🌐LN50 + πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ώ Azerbaijan (πŸ›°οΈRS-44)
3⃣ QSO with Philippe EA6/ EA4NF
==> new grid 🌐JM29 (πŸ›°οΈRS-44)

A few days ago, I resurrected my TinyGS LoRa satellite groundstation (https://tinygs.com/station/M5JFS@1596546728).

Using a modest 1/4Ξ» ground plane antenna temporarily mounted outside a conservatory window about 6 feet off the ground and facing west, I've been getting some good results.

Looking forward to getting the antenna mounted higher soon.
