If speculations on the Amsat-bb list are correct, #hamradio #satellite FO-99 has re-entered. With its fast and deep QSB, it wasn't one of my favourite "birds." I've only had a handful of QSOs using it, but kept trying it anyway, so I feel sad to lose it. Its published schedules, for which one probably needed a PhD to understand when it was going to be on, were just legendary @M5JFS and I will never get another chance to complete that QSO via FO-99 🙂 Thanks #jarl for operating it for so long.

Totally failed to get SDR++ to recognise my SDRPlay RSP1a today. I'm sure I've had it working with this SDR in the past but can't for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong.

Someone please prove what a fool I am by suggesting the solution ;-)

Attention #VLF radio fans. The Alexanderson Alternator transmitter SAQ will be making a broadcast tomorrow for UN-Day. I successfully received test transmissions today while it was being tested and the motor rheostats' sodium carbonate solutions were being fine tuned after they were drained, cleaned and refilled recently.

The broadcast will be live streamed from 1425UTC tomorrow (October 24th)

Good fun on the 145 Alive 2m FM activity event yesterday. The map shows all the stations I worked (my QTH is the blue dot). Best DX was 95 miles. Pretty happy with that running 5W into a 3 ele Arrow 4.5m above ground. (QTH 100m ASL)

Yesterday, I set out on my first wx balloon/radio sonde hunt. Unfortunately it landed in the sea as is often the case for balloons that come my way. Still, it proved my tracker receiver and phone app were working but I need to put an external antenna on the car to make it more usable.
