Been awhile since posting here.

Word of the day: “Hypothetical”

My Northridge Earthquake PTSD just kicked in. Felt the 5.1 quake here in Ventura County. Had to shutdown studio and also under Flash Flood warning from Hurricane. Yikes!

Have you seen the fantastic, relatively new "advice column" in the Guardian, written by Sisonke Msimang? (The column it called "Ms Understanding").

This one is particularly good - "I am the minority voice in every aspect of my life – how do I cope with the racism?"

Her reply and advice are just - wow ❤️

I am the minority voice in every aspect of my life – how do I cope with the racism?

Your question sits at the heart of what it means to live with and against injustice, writes Sisonke Msimang. But you don’t have to bear the burden of history alone

Will miss Tina Turner. She contributed so much to music history and inspired so many of her musical peers, myself included. Her spirit and music lives on ... One of my all time favorites. Her energy, voice, and magnetic stage performance was second to none.

Rest easy Ms. Turner. You were "simply the best."

So true!

We’re Still Getting Our Pandemic Preparation Horribly Wrong

Until we focus on the combustible social conditions that made Covid so devastating, we’ll never be truly ready for the next pandemic.

Happy Earth Day!
One of our local Ventura County, CA events (on the lower CA Central Coast) was at the Camarillo Grove Park Nature Center. So beautiful today with wildflowers draping the slopes of the local foothills. Here are a couple of pics.

We hit the tail-end of this event. The wildflowers were behind us on entry road to the park, unaccessible to stop for pics while driving. Oak trees everywhere.

Hackers Are Stealing Cars by Injecting Code Into Headlight Wiring

Tech savvy thieves have resorted to using specially crafted devices that simply plug into the wiring harness behind the headlight of a victim's car.

Once they're plugged in, they're able to unlock, start, and drive away before the owner even catches wind of what's going on.

"It is not a respiratory virus, it is a vascular inflammatory virus that will make any pre existing condition that people have worse and will give people new chronic disease... This is not a mild virus when you can chronically disable, with post viral syndrome or long-COVID, 10 per cent of your population... This is absolute lunacy, it's reckless." - Dr. Lyne Filiatrault
