I have always been a game designer, not for the computer, but in-person, especially board games and tabletop roleplaying games. I also love chess and music, and I embrace humor. I'm a mostly liberal Christian man in a committed relationship.

After 12 years' worth plus a spate of requests this past weekend, I'm doing the unthinkable and/or unconscionable and writing up an Apocalypse World SRD.

It's going incredibly well. I can't even tell you. It's a mean, stripped down version of my PbtA articles, laser focused on making a cinematic ensemble action-drama-thriller game like AW.

I don't know how many games it'll inspire, of course, when it comes to it, but it's a tight piece of practical RPG theory anyway. I'm excited to share it.

Those interested in other systems from this whole #OGL debacle, there's an online, solo adventure for #RuneQuest available:

#KoboldPress, #Chaosium and #Legendary joining Paizo's initiative... Wow. I'm curious as to what #WoD, as well as #SJG, will do.

The real value is in IP, and these important voices are acknowledging that fact.

Critical Role has a lot at stake with #Exandria, and if they try to stay out of it (cut a deal on the side), it may impact their standing with fans. If I were Paizo, I'd be courting them like crazy.

😂 my 7 year old just asked for a raise in her allowance; we promptly denied her request due to lack of consistent work and recent attitude.

But we did commend her for advocating for herself and told her to try again in a few months.

I hope she gets the raise.

When I see someone shopping in their pajama pants, I grab them, shake them violently, and scream "Wake Up! You're Sleepwalking!

Ok... I got some feedback. 79% of roleplayers who responded favored multiple dice for success rolls, rather than a single die.

Next up: hit location adds detail, but also complexity, to a game, whereas a generalized hit point total is simpler. Which option appeals to you more?

I am happy that this small slice of Mastodon likes a curve for success rolls. I feel I'm on the right track. I'm still on the fence about kept/unkept dice and exploding dice.
Damned fascists everywhere.
