This makes a very good point around the concept of visibility on #TransDayOfVisibility that #trans people being visible isn't always good for us and we are entitled to privacy.

But I would say visibility isn't so literal as being out and proud and in public discourse. It's about visibility of our loved experience, visibility of ours souls and truth. It's to walk in our shoes and understand us. The visibility to aspire towards on such a day is the kind that engenders empathy and understanding.

That being said, for as painful literal visibility can be I owe my life now to all the trans people who were visible, out and proud, in the world around me at their own risk. All of you who didn't hide and lived your best lives helped me come out and I haven't had any opportunity to find those people and say thank you, excepting one, so I'm saying it here.

Thanks for taking that risk and being visible. You changed my life.

Hey Everybody!

I figured I'd do another introduction bc I've been here for a few months.

I go by "Dolphin" online.

I'm a regular person, nothing fancy. No special superhero skills, although being able to hold my breath underwater for 10 min. like a dolphin would be awesome 😂

I'm a mother of three first and foremost. I will be talking about my kids on here.

My kids are super into gardening, and I'm sure I'll be posting pics soon 😁

We also have 4 cats and 2 bettas.

I'm a grad student working on my MBA. I've just about completed a certificate in applied finance and have a huge interest in the nonprofit sector.

I worked as an ICU RN for a long time.

I love programming. I have a couple certs in Python and love Linux. I would LOVE to focus more on such things but I'm busy a lot now w/ school & mom stuff...

But I love to get geeky whenever I can. I also love networking and have a bit of an obsession w/ routers 😬 😂

I've also been a Trekkie since I was a kid.
