@ed_hawkins Some have been pushing for the changes to prevent this since the 70s. They were regarded as whack job hippies. My lecturers at university taught us about climate change in the 90s. They were regarded as whack job greenies. It’s not like we didn’t know until now. But humans and economic systems seem to need to be on the brink of disaster to change.
@ajsadauskas One of the biggest roadblocks to effective public transport is the expectation that everyone has a car. I don’t, and there are many places I can’t get to in my own area without hiring a taxi or Uber. Other places take three to five times longer to get to with as many charges of bus and train.
