We will wish we had acted faster and sooner.
Future generations will not understand why we didn't.

@ed_hawkins hard to tell if you were talking about climate change or the death of Twitter until I saw the hashtag. Oh how our humanity has fallen on the wayside

@ed_hawkins

Our generation will become hate figures. We KNEW #climatechange was being caused by our dependence on fossil fuels, we had the technology to replace it, but we spent our time arguing about a few immigrants while driving around in our massive #gasguzzlers

@jasonpedlow @ed_hawkins I don't disagree but it's also human nature to ignore non-immediate threats.
@ed_hawkins Some have been pushing for the changes to prevent this since the 70s. They were regarded as whack job hippies. My lecturers at university taught us about climate change in the 90s. They were regarded as whack job greenies. It’s not like we didn’t know until now. But humans and economic systems seem to need to be on the brink of disaster to change.
@ed_hawkins sadly there are still so many that still confuse climate and weather. I fear we have waited too long but the generation now knocking on the politicians doors will be the agents of change. Fingers crossed we're still here to change things!
