Having some issues trying to install software to read and use Radioddity GD-73 on a win10 machine. Anyone able to offer assistance or suggestions?

#success i finally got my 10 meter dipole tuned and in the air a few days ago in a v configuration and was able to participate in my local 10-10 net, was able to gather some 10-10 numbers and I’m on my way to completing my application for membership in 10-10 international! I need to fiddle with the legs a little more to get my swr as low as possible but I was pretty happy with it! #hamradio #10meter

I was a Reddit user for many years, and used a 3d party app (RIP #Apollo ) but due to the recent choices that’s no longer available. My enjoyment of Reddit has decreased a lot over the last few weeks but I’m finding that I can get a lot of the same enjoyment from the @fediverse that I had. Lots of interesting people saying lots of interesting things! Anyway, just a random Wednesday afternoon thought.

How necessary is a tuner for you? I’m just beginning to venture out into #HF land and I’m struggling with making resonant antennas. Sometimes I think it would be nice to just get #closeenough and have a tuner to make it work. But I also think that maybe I’m a better #hamradio operator because I take the time to make my antenna resonant. My rig is a 10 meter Radio Shack HTX-10 so I don’t have an internal tuner. Thoughts?

Just venting and whining. Tried to string up a simple dipole this morning and after 2 hours of futzing realized my solder joint was broken on one leg and can’t seem to get it to stick again. Just feeling frustrated right now.

I wanted to pause for a moment and reflect on the past year, the present season and the future days. I’m grateful for this place and these people, fellow travelers and adventurers all.
