Morn’ My Montana, Dark preceded by driven snow, Winter’s burrowing in, heavy snow, sharp wind. Temps falling quickly. Askum, out early. Tryin’ to warm prior to venturing out. Bunker up. Triple layers and warm mittens. 4ºF headed to 15, negatives ahead. Y’all be careful out there!
Morn’ My Montana, Dawn crept in pushing black to gray. A slight showing of color in light to the south. Walkaround, dead calm still, bereft of sounds. Soon gone. Askum Rabbit focused. Chickadees bring busy joy. Sounds return quickly. 14ºF headed to 25. Y’all be careful out there.
@JohnJenkins Had to do a back and forth to Missoula- I do not know how you drove to work over that pass every day. White knuckles…

Happy December! Not sure I can match Kojak’s level of excitement about winter, but I’ll give it my best effort. 🥶😄👍🏼

Morn’ My Montana, gray dreary start to the day, but quiet walkaround in light dusting of new snow brought a bit of a smile. Watching Askum’s joy delights. Mallards getting up off the creek/regular feathered visitors on the feeders. 8 deg headed to 29. Y’all be careful out here!
another fine day in the #Montana #backcountryski universe
Morn' My Montana, just a beautiful streaming cloud filled Thanksgiving day. Major upheaval in family. Am well, and will peek in an post for a whole but not regularly as much to do. Askum and I ok. Life moves on whether we are ready or not. Wish you all joy and grand Holiday. John

Morn' My Montana, dawn showed colors and clouds. Walk-around less nippy and zero wind. Hate when it's so cold I miss out. Cries of Raven, squawk of Magpies fill the early morning air. Trip to dump, regular chores, plus holiday prep. 15°F headed to 36. Y'all be careful out there.

My grandmother began sewing ribbon skirts as part of her healing from the trauma of residential schools.
She and my mother have always been fantastic seamstresses, frequently making my Halloween costumes.

She's now moved on to making regalia, and this is her first Plains-style regalia dress.
