Software engineering is life (tongue-n-cheek).

Practing leadership (forever). Practicing and engaged Ally.

Rust Advocate. Retrocomputing fanatic.

Loving this shot I got of a Flame Skimmer where the shadow cast by the wings is orange. I did not notice that when I took the shot and was really pleased when I saw it during editing. #Photography #Dragonflies #Odonata #CanonR5
A couple of shots of a Say’s Phoebe taken in central Oregon. Wonderful bird. #Photography #Birds #Oregon #Birding

Added a TK-II to my #Atari 800XL over the weekend and can now use a standard PS2 keyboard with it. This is definitely cool. Got lucky with my POKEY chip being socketed so no solder/desolder required.

BTW if you think PS2 refers to a PlayStation 2 you’re gonna have to dig a little deeper into #RetroComputing history to grok this post. Dive in!

The HP-16C (circa 1982) is absolutely my favorite calculator even against any available today. So grateful to have one. A company called Swiss Micros makes clones of this and the other C model calculators and they’re quite nice. #RetroComputing #Retro #HP
Was able to get some great shots of this Sharp-shinned Hawk just outside our kitchen window the other day. #birds #photography #nature
More #Atari love. Love these machines and this book is a lot of fun.

Was able to find this at the Retro convention in Portland last year. I’ve always been a user and fan of the Atari ST, so finding the “portable” Stacy was a real treat for me. 20MB hard drive and a floppy drive. All works great!

Atari (8-bit) computer cartridges. Can you spot a favorite amongst this group? Game or programming language?

I was a huge Atari guy as a kid. I’ve loved recollecting these amazing machines and writing some code on them. As an adult I’m less opinionated and have also restored and enjoyed amazing machines from Apple, Commodore, Sinclair, TI and Tandy, many of which I’ll share here in the coming days. #retrocompuing #retro #Atari #Commodore #tandy #ti #sinclair #Apple
Part 2. You can see the cold solder joint that took me a few hours to find. You can also see the blown PS cap I had to replace. #retrocompuing #retro #tandy
