October came and went in a blur. It was busy. We had many friends visiting. The weather cooled down.
Jo returned to China from Berlin. Her first book has been printed, and she launched the book in Demo Vintage with a reading and Q&A session.
Also we were filmed again for local TV, but that is another story.

September saw us contracted to lead an international school tour for a week of hiking in the Tengger desert, in Inner Mongolia. The Tengger is an interesting desert, as it is in fact surprisingly wet. It rained several times while we were there. There are many saline lakes. VERY salty and gross. In September, the temperature is very pleasant. Chilly at night, but comfortable in the daytime. #desert #mongolia #hiking #exploration #guide

July came and went with very low levels of productivity for me. We rescued a cat, which deserves its own entire story at a later date, once the saga has reached a conclusion. We managed to get a few days out kayaking on whitewater, surviving brutal heat in the process. I made zero progress on my book, something I hope to improve upon in August. I hope. I am just over the halfway mark in the editing, layout, and illustration of my second book, which is a stand-alone fiction novel. I have chosen to make a drawing for each chapter of the book, and I have 43 chapters, so it is quite a workload, especially as I am a very... limited, artist. Still, I am finding that the illustrations are serving their purpose in creating the atmosphere I am looking for.

December came and went peacefully. Being in China meant Christmas wasn't much of an inconvenience. We enjoyed a film night. I finally managed to play cello with another person recently. It was a fun experience.
In have been busy writing my next book. I should finish its first draft in the next month or so. January and February are looking like they could be fun.

I wrote a book. It is called November: Tales from the month of death.
It is a collection of 30 short stories, each one with their own illustration.
It is now in (very limited) print, and I will be distributing it to a few indy bookstores I know. There will not be a digital copy available. It will not be for sale on Amazon. If you know of an indy bookstore who would be willing to take a few, let me know.
