October came and went in a blur. It was busy. We had many friends visiting. The weather cooled down.
Jo returned to China from Berlin. Her first book has been printed, and she launched the book in Demo Vintage with a reading and Q&A session.
Also we were filmed again for local TV, but that is another story.

I stumbled upon this story recently that I had written nearly 50 years ago, at maybe age 13 or 14. A stumbling effort at grit and allegory, it somehow still feels socially and politically relevant. In embarrassment and nostalgia, I share.

Will be skipping cricket practice today as boy was nominated by his skcool as a good writist and they have sent him to a "Young Writers Collective" event today at Fremantle Prison.
I believe it's in a building in the grounds, not the cells.

The Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction
Feeling motivated again! I wrote a summary for my first book in this fantasy series I’ve been working on for a few years. It’s been a huge struggle to get it all to come together, partly because I was very young and (even more) inexperienced (than I currently am) when I started it, so it’s been a series of painful first chapter re-drafts for as long as I can remember. I’m determined to get stuck in this time and just go for it without overthinking!
