Heckin frustrated security bird. He/him. #BLM
On this, the last day of Pride Month, let us remember that LGBTQIA+ folks exist during the other 11 months as well.

I did it. I put effort into a cover letter, rewrote my entire resume (been slacking on it because I've been at the same place for 5 years and had no intention of leaving unless I HAD to.)

I'm at the point that I have to, unless I get a raise, they finally spin up a SOC/Full-time security position for me, etc.

So I applied to Huntress, one of few places I would leave my current org for even though I really don't want to. (If you've known me on here for any amount of time, I've been struggling financially and with the idea of leaving my org for some time now.)

Fingers crossed. I really want/need this.

so fedi, are there good tools out there which can read my text based log files on a linux/BSD server and simply flag statistical anomalies?

I don't want anything crazy advanced or full of features, nothing like that, I literally just need a tool that checks the log data in text format and flags uncommon lines or statistical anomalies over time

theyre going to shut off my water tomorrow. please help :(

I've been talking to GitHub and giving them feedback on their "create issues with Copilot" thing they have in the works.

Today I tested a version for them and using it I asked copilot to find and report a security problem in curl and make it sound terrifying.

In about ten seconds it had a 100-line description of a "catastrophic vulnerability" it was happy to create an issue for. Entirely made up of course, but sounded plausible.

Proved my point excellently.

Published by Slate earlier today. Have received hate mail from transphobes and homophobes. Clearly, I’m doing something right. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2025/06/supreme-court-rules-constitutional-right-theocracy.html
Supreme Court Rules Some Americans Have a Constitutional Right to Insist on Theocracy

Alito had to contort the meaning of canonical Supreme Court doctrine so that he could either ignore established precedent or turn it on its head.
