Heckin frustrated security bird. He/him. #BLM

Just to clear up some misinfo circulating, a BGP hijack was not the cause of
Cloudflare DNS going down today.

At 21:51 UTC, Cloudflare (AS13335) withdrew both 1.1.1.0/24 and 1.0.0.0/24 for an unknown reason.

I suspect AS4755 was always announcing 1.1.1.0/24, when CF went away, it leaked a bit (i.e. "%2").

discovering that Samsung has two grades of graphics DDR3 that they call gDDR3 and GDDR3 and I haven't been this mad at a naming convention since USB3

I've seen way too many communities shatter over people pointing fingers and saying "that group of people have it easier than my group of people" that I'm so very very tired.

Is it "better" to be stabbed or shot?

IDK, that's going to depend on so many different situations specific things that it's a meaningless comparison to generalize. Where did you get hit, what kind of bullet, how deep was the stab wound, did it hit an artery, how far away is the hospital?

Okay, well is starving worse than those?

Or how about people who are starving AND shot?

Or people who are freezing?

Maybe you yourself are fine but you're being forced to watch as your loved ones go through something awful.

Like, life can suck in so many different ways, and bad things can intersect within other things, and some of the bad things can be blunted somewhat with privilege, but that doesn't mean the bad things disappear either.

Just accept shit be shitty for everyone. Help offer care and support and love to those you can, accept it from others when you need it, and we'll all muddle through life together as best we can.

no crime like the present

Added a new free malware reverse engineering lab 'Command And Control 1' which serves as an introduction to working with malware that communicates with C2 infrastructure.

Command & Control 1

A simple beginner-friendly example which obtains the flag from the C2 server. While this is a static analysis challenge, you'll still need to interact with the C2 server.

Yay! Shelves! All the shelves!
Finally got these up this afternoon. Once the clock's on the wall and the door's painted, that's another room done
Finally little piece in place, the cat clock above the door
I love this thing

@babe

That kind of clock, if not exactly similar, is in one of my go-to feelgood movies, watched repeatedly. And now I just can not remember which one.

It drives me crazy. 😭

@babe does it "maiaiaiaiouw!" on the hour? or get pussed off at 6 am when you haven't fed it?
@babe does it poop on you at midnight?
@babe I've wanted one of these since I was little
@dokuja They're still made by the same company they were originally!
@dokuja @babe
They come in colors if you want colors, but they also always come in classic black

@pencilears @dokuja I'm planning on getting a ginger one for a friend later in the year. It's truly one of my favourite little trinkets.

Like most people I guess I grew up seeing them on TV and in films. Amazing to actually have one

@babe One of my earliest memories (maybe three years old) is staring in fascination at the eyes on my Kit-Kat clock going back and forth when I first woke up. Decades later, it's still hypnotic.
@babe
I first saw that cat clock in Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and later when I watched Back to the Future for the first time. Such an iconic piece
@babe that is delightful. 🧡
@babe I've always wanted one of those but worried it would drive my brain crazy.
@babe
I can't help but notice that copy of HR Giger's book on the shelf.
@toekneegee I've got a bunch of them. The alien concept books, necronomicon 1 and 2, species books etc
@babe
That's a great collection, I'm envious. I missed out on buying them when I was at the Giger museum because I was too busy being poor.
@toekneegee I was a huge giger and dali fan as a teenager and to save thinking about what to get me for birthdays and christmases I just got loaded up with books and prints
@babe
Sweet, and at the same time a bit frightening.
@babe ZakMcKracken vibes
@babe strong lamp game in this photo
@brennen The only one that ever really gets turned on is the lantern but it's good to have options I guess (I haven't thought of anywhere else to put them yet)
@babe that looks like a really lovely room.
@babe that looks so homely and cozy! is it a gaming and media nook?

@0 Kind of. It's just my own little space in the house. So my computer stuff's in here, some old games consoles, trinkets, various art project things.

Was a bitch getting the games consoles set up in the sideboard but nice not to have them out cluttering it up

@babe having the consoles contained like that sounds like an important form of self-care and the space looks absolutely lovely!
@babe well that’s very nice! For all definitions of the word “nice”
@babe ah this is a lovely looking room!
@babe You have outdone yourshelves!
@babe it looks fantastic!
@babe ooh i love the warm lighting, very cosy ☺️
@babe nice! I like the touch of green. Looks like it would be on reddit's r/cozyplaces
@babe All the photos you post of your new place make it seems to cozy, I love it.
@babe Looks so fab. I love the lamp!
