#CEV #shielding worked in the City in legal pre pandemic - now WFH.

We need a competent govt which cares about improving life for people living in the UK!

Did you know that if you capitalize each word in a multi-word hashtag, #ScreenReaders can read them as words, but if you leave them lowercase, they can't? Well, now you know! So, for #accessibility, please capitalize words when there's more than one in a hashtag.

I stand with the nurses.
We should all do not only because it’s fair but because we’re all vulnerable at some point in our life to rely on their care.
We need safe & dignified working conditions for a quality healthcare workforce.
I also stand against narratives of division like ‘too many from overseas in the #NHS’.
#Nurses & #doctors from all backgrounds work together for the benefit of patients. It’s harmful to make some feel unwanted on top of all the strain they’re under.

@LawtonTri how lovely! Cats just make everything better!
@bestforbritain I saw this graph yesterday. Then add in the cost of living effect (food inflation was over 11% last month). It’s not right they are paid so little whilst doing so much for all of us!
@LawtonTri awwwh so cute! Batcat used to do the school run too when my daughter was at primary

Not sure if this has been shared on Mastodon yet, but it was a real pleasure to participate in 'A multinational consensus to end the public health thread of covid', with Jeffrey Lazarus and just under 400 odd participants. Very high consensus for key recommendations, including vaccines plus, importance of airborne messaging, and society wide approaches. #COVIDconsensus

A very warm welcome to those of you migrating from Twitter, or those curious about the other side!

#Hashtags are important here. There's no algorithm dictating what you see or when you see it. Finding who to follow or what topics to track is completely up to you.

Which is refreshing.

On our web view, we like to follow stuff like #Linux and #OpenSource. Use your search bar and look around!

To get a BUNCH of great tips on using Mastodon, follow #Mastotips.

Have fun!

In line with the value we place on #accessibility , and the reason we encourage people to use image descriptions -

When you're writing hashtags that are a combination of several words, please use camel case (LikeThis instead of likethis) - camel case helps screenreaders read the tag as two separate words, rather than trying to read the hashtag as one word.
