One of the best things I learned about WWDC is to not be shy about signing up for labs.

Don't hesitate because you're not a big company/app.

Don't hesitate because you think your code isn't "good enough".

Don't hesitate because you're not thrilled with how your app looks.

DO IT and you can get such good feedback and/or knowledge.

One of my favorite labs was when I told the Xcode team "I'm sure I don't use 10% of Xcode's features. Please show me cool things." and they did!

Any sources for “old style” API diffs these days?

Code workshop stopped updating at iOS 16.

I thought I saw another one last year that diffs that included Swift only APIs as well, but I cannot find it….

I think it's interesting that Apple's approach to AR is trying to make it a computer experience, not a metaverse experience. You're not seeing fake people in a fake room. You're seeing a normal teleconferencing interaction that has been elevated because you can turn your head and see different pieces of it and because you can show a large format of your presentation as if you had many screens that could hover anywhere in the room and spatial audio gives you better sound awareness.

The experience they're selling isn't "check out this new universe we've created." It's "look at what we can do when we can put displays anywhere and let you interact with computing in a new way." It's "what if you could be on an airplane with a 70 inch TV?"

@JustinSeal mid-level for both iOS and Android. Plus one iOS position that will be more senior.
@igorkulman US preferred
@jonduenas Hi Jon. Yes, they are remote friendly positions. I’ve edited my post to reflect that. Thanks for asking!

We are #hiring for multiple remote (US) friendly iOS and Android positions at Hilton right now.

It is an exciting time for us as we modernize our apps and prepare for new functionality that is on the horizon.

If you or someone you know might be a good fit, please reach out to me for more info.

Ok, Apple Watch Mirroring is officially my favorite #accessibility feature that I personally use. Amazing when I’m doing sports where my watch isn’t reachable due to (1) being on my ankle [no this is not officially supported by Apple, I don’t care] (2) being buried under clothes/gear such as during winter sports.

Settings -> Accessibility -> Apple Watch Mirroring (and make sure to add it to your accessibility shortcut so you can use triple click on the side button to activate!) #a11y
