I’m now looking forward to test it on the air soon! Time to celebrate! I just received my German callsign and I am now allowed to be back on the air! 🥳 A fixed station at home is out of the question in my current flat, so the beautiful forests, parks and hills around here will be my “shack”
This was part of a wonderful 2 day hike in "Parco Nazionale dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano", were we also climbed Monte Cusna (I-ER001) 2121m. Here I am not sure if I actually made any QSOs...logs must be in some drawer at my parent's place in Italy 😅

Today I found out that I unknowingly did a SOTA activation before even knowing that SOTA was a thing!
That's me in the picture, freshly licensed in 2015 on the summit of Monte Prado (I-ER002) 2054m.
According to SOTAwatch it was activated only twice, in 2020 and 2021: now I cannot stop smiling, thinking that I was maybe its very first, though unofficial, activator 😊
