Interesting work happening at the ISO SC 37 Biometrics committee

Getting immersed in a new subject is a great experience. ISO SC 37 wrapped up a week-long series of meetings yesterday in Okayama Japan. Here are some things I learned along the way: SC 37 is smaller than the other ISO committees I’m in - about 60 in-person plus about 20 online this week across 6 work groups. It makes for a tight-knit group and provides lots of time to build relationships.

Heading to ISO SC 37 — Biometrics January 2024

I've joined the Standards Council of Canada's mirror committee for ISO SC 37 (Biometrics). My focus is on proving liveness and biometric matching for face and consumer-operated sensors. Excited to explore international interest at the upcoming January 2024 SC 37 plenary in Okayama.

I’ve been thinking about “what’s next” in the world of wide-scale consumer authentication systems. We hear a loud proclamations for death to passwords, when what we all really want is just death to…

Identification as the Objective for Designers

Why do system designers insist on bugging us to logon every time we want to do anything? In this blog, I’d like to pivot on the “IDAM/ICAM Industry” core premise that establishing the Identity of t…

I see reports of slowing growth on #Mastodon. Good. Don’t tell anyone else. Everyone here is awesome.

Except the artists. Tell them. And the scientists. And the musicians. Tell them too. And the chefs. And the space nerds. And the mountain climbers and surfers. And the farmers. Tell them. And the horticulturists. And the photographers. And the software developers. And the poets. And the astronauts. And the dancers. And..

Tell interesting people, the fediverse is where you want to be.

@mattblaze isn't this performance simply a deliberate attempt to divert media headlines away from Jan 6 commemoration?
