Just released Signboard 1.0.1. I spent the first week since release focusing only on reliability and security. It is pretty solid, I love it. You can use the “Check for updates" feature to get the latest.

My opinion of Bluesky remains nearly the same as this post from 16 months ago. I don’t think raising VC money aligns with their stated goals and I don’t like that it isn’t really federated.

Their recent reveal that they hid a $100M raise is… not good. I predict they will fail or they will do what every other social network has had to do before them to survive… give up the goals they had at first.

I upgraded my Ubuntu VM to 26.04 to see GNOME 50 in action. It is super polished. If I were to use any desktop OS other than macOS this is what I’d use. Tahoe may drive me towards this! I really like it.
