Originally from Wirral (still a #Tranmere fan), growing up on the edge of the Mersey with a view of the docks, Pier Head and the Three Graces, and occasionally my uncle's Pilot boat, but long time living in Dorset. If you watch nothing else on TV today at least go to BBC iPlayer (VE Day 80: The Nation Pays Tribute) and see the Sophie Raworth interviews with Ruth Klauber (101 years old, RAF veteran airframe mechanic). We forget the wisdom of such seniors at our peril.

A bully is a bully and can only turn situations such as this into humiliation & pain for those in need.

It remains crazy to me how planting trees and waiting few years** results in one of the most magical experience a human can have - take a walk in the garden and feed one's body and heart, with gratitude to mother nature.

**not discounting some maintenance, pruning... but zero pesticides, fungicides. Don't believe those you tell you it's impossible to grow food without poisons. Prove them wrong, you have the whole food web on your side - above and below ground!

As I digest the news from #USA, I happen to be reading #Harari #Nexus. In the section on the role of communication in democracies this morning I stumbled upon: “In the 1828 presidential elections, Adams lost to Andrew Jackson – a rich slave-holding planter from Tennessee who was successfully rebranded in numerous newspaper columns as ‘the man of the people’ and who claimed that the previous elections were in fact stolen by Adams and by the corrupt Washington elites.”
