Friend had a glacial slow Windows laptop. I made a grave mistake. Loaded #Linux on it. It works fine but I am now on the phone for hours trying to help him discover how to use it, especially when he insists on not using simple commands, even with the GUI ( like copy ) and has to search for a special Windows application to do that.
Lessons
1) if someone wants to buy a new windows machine, let them.
2) when they can't find anything you can say "I don't use or know Windows." ( not my problem )
