rhempel@gwynnion - the economy is just fine on a macro level, if you go by the metrics that end up driving the socially destructive behavior we are seeing from captains of industry.
On the other hand, if you look at it from the micro level, the situation is not that great, with many people living paycheck to paycheck and with no social safety net.
I'm fortunate and privileged, that doesn't mean I don't see a lot of people struggling and hopeless. Look around, open your eyes, be kind, help if you can.

When a D is in the WH, rightwing media talks ceaselessly about how terrible the economy is and the MSM finds a way to constantly highlight the negative, or attach conditionals to the positive, to justify the way Rs are "feeling." Remains true even when the economy under a D outperforms the economy under an R.
