Those funds, we now know, were stolen from FTX's retail customers. This is exactly the kind of thing that an SEC investigation could have revealed.

The vast sums of (real) money the crypto industry pumped into electoral politics is closely related to its bull run - campaign contributions muzzled finance watchdogs, which let the industry defraud the public, which gave it more money for campaign contributions.

The fact that the violence isn’t organized yet doesn’t make it any less deadly. They are creating a culture of violence that operates on stochastic terror, random and unpredictable, designed to push queer and trans folks into hiding or risk death.

And from what we're seeing happening on Twitter, they are currently using the Club Q shooting as justification for further arming themselves and further attacks. If this goes unchallenged, then this gets worse from here, not better.
