@tinmanic It's also easier for me to go back and forth in a print book, especially if it's nonfiction and I want to check the index. I just use my Kindle for travel, so I haven't used it at all in the past few years!
@tinmanic I'll be interested to know what you think of American Prometheus. I also wonder if the type is bigger? And I thought you read most things on your Kindle?
@NancyWallaceGA Comments on the recipes are really helpful, too!
I made the Eggplant and Tomato Pie from the New York Times #Cooking app. I used a homemade whole wheat pizza crust. Tasty, like a deep dish eggplant pizza, but it kind of fell apart in the middle. Next time I'll make it crustless. #Food #Recipes
@[email protected] Congratulations!
@tinmanic I'm so thrilled for you!

@palafo Shouldn't a Social Security number have been required in both of these cases? Someone should have followed up.

In November 1990, Mr. Zampach submitted a form notifying the American Embassy in Tokyo of her death, but left blank a box on the form asking for her Social Security number, prosecutors said. When he returned to the United States with his mother’s remains, he also omitted her Social Security number from an application for a burial permit.

@tinmanic Same thing for me. Only a handful of people from Twitter are here, and even fewer post regularly. I know it takes time to build things up but I haven't had much luck finding people to follow, and none of the news sites are here. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy - I don't engage much here because there's hardly anyone to engage with.
@tinmanic Roberts seems to "get it" when it comes to the military, since he carved out an exemption for the service academies. It's just hypocrisy.
@tinmanic I find the NYT comments to be more nuanced, no doubt because they're moderated. The crazies get weeded out.
