We have a Boil Notice here in Houston. I hear that was announced on Mastodon.Weird

Can somene please tell me how to get notifications from that island?

@ShannaPeeples An interesting sounding book. I will have to add it to my Christmas list. Always looking for voices outside of the history discipline to help me help my students.
@BushinskiSusan I do not give tests, so I am out of the discussion. However, my colleagues now want their students to come to campus, with an ID, and take proctored tests.
@sahardsattarzadeh Just took the survey. Easy and quick to complete. Very focused questions. a very important study.
@kiknsr Still thinking about this question. I would probably have some practice ungrading exercises before any actual ungading essays. For example:
"Name something simple you learned to do. It could be from college, high school, middle school, elementary school, or outside of school. Then, tell me why did you learn to do it? How did you learn to do it? When did you know that you learned to do it? And, how did learning that thing impact your life."
@punklion Thanks! It was a Thanksgiving Miracle.

Well, I made it through our two Thanksgiving with only one major argument, and that was with my 80 yr old mother over her eldest grandson's chances of getting into Harvard as a sophomore because he took one year of Dual Credit.

I tried to tell her how the system works and how universities feel about Dual Credit, but she would have nothing of it and so we went back and forth, increasing the volume and tone until my mom changed the subject with the line "So anyhow..."

@moodswingsandlovelythings It's a new day and so I hope you are feeling better. Compassion, empathy and care are what we all have for you. So many of us have waked in your shoes. All you have to do is reach out and we are here for you Britt.
@Snu For me it' painting miniatures. Having to focus on such a small and intimate object helps me when things sometimes begin to spiralout of control.
@jonreed Unfortunately for me, I am old enough to remember the orginal version. Good job with this one.
