Humans have never removed an #environmental pollutant on a regional or global scale that matters.
Our solution to environmental pollution has always been to reduce the pollutant at the source (e.g., #CFCs for stratospheric #ozone, SOâ‚‚ for acid rain, SOâ‚“, NOâ‚“, VOCs, etc. for urban air #pollution) and then let nature heal.
The solution to #COâ‚‚ pollution might be the same. We have to prepare for the possibility that COâ‚‚ removal (#CDR) doesn't work and #reduce #fossil #fuel COâ‚‚ #emissions ASAP.
