@PickPoppies I have a couple of allotments but I live in a flat with no outdoor space so they are my back yard.
My bigger allotment (below) backs on to an orchard that you can see behind the yellow car. Much more than just food. It’s a nature gateway! (But also the food because I’m greedy!) 😂
I have hardly any grass, just for paths and even then most of my paths are compost paths now!

Saving your own seed isn’t difficult. It’s finding that ambient temperature to dry them without rotting.
I’ve found hanging fruit from my boiler to be an excellent place for drying beans 🫘
