Everyone should make sure to call and email their reps, and the governor to ask them to finally be proactive instead of just being reactive to the right wing government.

They need to protect our rights, healthcare, education, and everything else BEFORE Trump tries to mess with it

"The T is turning the corner on some major improvements โ€” subway slow zones expected to be eradicated by the end of the year, speeds on the Blue and Orange Lines faster than before federal intervention, the largest workforce in years โ€” and even advocates who previously hadn't hesitated to criticize the T are now singing its praises."

Does it seem like your T ride is improving? It actually might be | WBUR News

There are financial problems on the horizon that are threatening to undo all that progress and send the T spiraling, unless state officials can agree on some potentially expensive solutions.

Ask Somerville to Remove Parking Minimums, Enact Maximums & Expand Dedicated Bus Lanes.

We don't need parking minimums, we need maximums!

Ask Somerville to Remove Parking Minimums, Enact Maximums & Expand Dedicated Bus Lanes

Parking minimums raise housing costs, increase greenhouse gas emissions, and make our streets more dangerous. You can do something about it!

@ascentale We bought a Travelin K9 Pet-Pilot and strapped it to our front rack on our bike. He loves it and he stays strapped in and thereโ€™s the top cover for when itโ€™s super sunny or rainy

Itโ€™s not just far-right Republicans who undermine democracy. A majority of voters in the Bay State favor progressive policies, but donโ€™t get them. Why not?

@trachelipus @CartyBoston I mean this is just a rough estimate based on land area. Thereโ€™s no real proposal to build housing there, and if there was that would be part of basically any land use plan before building would even begin
@CartyBoston
If that was basically nothing but triple deckers, it could house tens of thousands of people ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
@antijen thatโ€™s part of why the MBTA hasnโ€™t done it up to this point. We donโ€™t have a lot of turnaround points in the system. But there are some! The value here is using it where we can. For example between Alewife and Harvard, where thereโ€™s turnarounds at both stations. You can only run 1 train between those two stations at a time, so you may need shuttle supplement service. But it would mean a trip from Park st to Alewife wouldnโ€™t need a transfer for one side of track work to occur
Everything Phil Eng said in this interview is incredibly promising. Especially considering Single tracking! Single tracking is super valuable to maintaining the tracks into the future with minimal disruption to riders. Really good stuff here

MBTA GM Eng says shutdowns will allow T to deal with maintenance backlog

By the end of 2024, MBTA officials said, the agency will fix all of the slow zones that have been a thorn in the side of riders for more than a year at this point.
