Last night into this morning, we had the strongest aurora I've seen since 2015. We're entering the solar maximum cycle again, and I hope we see lots more of these before the cycle ends.

The German #hamradio club #DARC has for some time now operated its own Matrix chat server https://chat.darc.de .

And that's really great!

- DARC groups can now officially and legally use chat. (If you don't appreciate that, read Art 28 GDPR.)
- All members have access, through DARC credentials. Matrix becomes an obvious choice for new activities. It sees heavy use for that.
- Outside DARC, federation means open invitation: Anyone with an account on any Matrix server world-wide can join.
