@ivory congrats on the update
@Tutanota not great that the older users are being overlooked on this one.

Spitball idea for iOS: When doing a screen recording, automatically turn on Do Not Disturb for the duration of the recording.

So many times when I’m recording my screen, say, to have a video to send a developer with a bug report, the recording gets ruined by an incoming notification.

@macstories A non-native app I’d throw in the mix is the 1Password 8 update that went to Electron. Was derided by many but by and large I’ve found the app to work very well still, even coming from the native version 7.

There’s no doubt areas where you can notice some non-native feeling UI, like modal windows and how scrolling works. But overall I think it’s a successful app still. Feels like Electron has allowed faster development, and believe it helped bring Windows in line also for them.

This toot has been favved more times than it's been boosted, and therefore I am ragequitting Mastodon and seeking refuge over on ... *checks notes* ... UGH FINE, I'LL STAY.
@gruber not yet. I’ll pull the trigger at some point but I wear an old series 2 to bed that prevents the feature being enabled. At some point I’ll stop bothering with the second watch, but not today.

Also, I launched the first party Reddit app for the first time in maybe five years and was floored at just how bad it is compared not only to Apollo, but even the likes of these Lemmy apps that have been in development for such a short period of time. The ads didn’t help, but even those aside, it was an awful reading experience.

Reddit are saying they need to do more to improve accessibility. I’d argue they have much more to address than just that.

Been really impressed with the #Memmy app for #Lemmy over the past month or so. Made me fully appreciate how much of my Reddit browsing was based on the #Apollo app experience. Memmy does a great job of doing a similar thing for Lemmy, and is seeing almost daily updates. iOS users frustrated with Reddit should check it out https://apps.apple.com/au/app/memmy-for-lemmy/id6450204299

Also, give #Voyager (formally #WefWef) a look as an alternative. Most impressive PWA I’ve ever seen. http://vger.app

@johnvoorhees @daveycraney cheers. Yeah it’s a bit hard to follow. I had to double check myself :)
@daveycraney @macstories ahh great and thanks for the heads up. I loaded the article earlier on but hadn’t read it at the time, so had the older revision up :)
