This is a big step forward in our mission to provide a privacy-respecting, community-powered navigation app to everyone.

We're delighted to reveal that after lots of creative input, and voting, you have chosen the color for CoMaps! 🎨

The winning color is – ‘deep olive green’! This was the top pick in the community collaboration. The color reflects our community's passion for travel and the outdoors, with a warm, calm, and happy appeal which reflects a friendly and visually appealing experience!

@CoMaps those are great choices! I highly recommend to take a look at the voting issue in codeberg, if you are interested in the logos, as there are some text examples as well. @thelinuxEXP this might be a topic for the Linux and open source news.

@CoMaps 3 and 6 Look most individual to me
@CoMaps the group pin really grew on me.
First I liked those like 1 & 3 but the group pin has to be used imho.
@CoMaps I could imagine versions of the others having a similar group on the top round edge of their circle.
I really love the idea of the community being present in the icon, even so it might make it less clean and I think the world one is already going into a too much going on direction.
Might it be able to build the app on its own with my preferred icon? As it is foss, it should? I will definitely try it if I don't like the icon. Happy to learn more about this anyway.
