This is probably very Ariel of me, but I just do not understand how you can cut scientific funding when scientists are the people who discovered that orcas wear salmon hats and it's a fad that has recently come back into style. Whose life is not enriched by this information? Can we feed them to the orcas?
What's been great about the boycott is finding local places that deserve our money. Groceries. Books. Clothes.

It's the perfect size for gaming. I have a steamdeck. It's great but big. The Vita is small enough for a purse.

“Put yourself in their shoes” assumes shoes fit universally. Real empathy is more like: “Acknowledge they’re wearing shoes made for feet unlike yours, walking paths you’ve never trodden.”
When people say 'politics is too divisive now,' what they really mean is 'I was more comfortable when certain groups suffered quietly.'
So I understand when the security guard told me people threaten him on the regular. It's hostile by design.

What is more frustrating is that the appointment system favors people who 1) have the luxury of time to go through the steps of to make an appointment, 2) have even more luxury to take time off work to go to the appointment that may be as much as a month later, 3) know how US government systems work, and 4) have access to Internet/computer and a mailing address.

There are so many people who, if they lack even one of those things, will be at a disadvantage.
