Robert ReichI cancelled my Duolingo subscription and haven't tried another service yet, so lately I've just been using the German ich_iel (me_irl) sub to teach myself until I get another language app. Anyway, I'm often surprised at how much I can translate without help.

This weekend's cooking adventures (on my first paid holiday ever. My first holiday not worrying about how I'll make up the money elsewhere, EVER): steelhead trout with savory strawberry relish, sourdough chocolate chip cookies, cashew cookies with brown butter icing, and a giant loaf of sourdough bread.
I am pretty sure that I heard my Waymo talking to itself after I got out. Which, frankly, doesn't seem all that out of the realm of possibility in the year of our lord 2025.
And that is why I greet and thank my robot cars each time. When our vehicular overlords arise, I am totally getting a sweet discount for my unerring politeness.
