So, yesterday we were subjected to Jonathan Gullis demanding to legislate to leave the ECHR in order to brazenly breach people’s human rights, deport them to Rwanda and max out on cruelty. He has the backing of Johnson and Patel and others in this nasty, thuggish plan.

This Tory party has become something revolting. Knotted up with hatred and prejudice. Looking to scapegoat others for its own grim failure.

Greedy, callous people doing unforgivable things for power.

An eye-opening piece from @[email protected] that documents horrific stories from the for-profit hospice industry in the US. A cautionary tale for Canada that speaks to the consequences of making profits the top priority, rather than patient care #cdnhealth

How Hospice Became a For-Profit Hustle

It began as a visionary notion—that patients could die with dignity at home. Now it’s a twenty-two-billion-dollar industry plagued by exploitation, Ava Kofman writes.

Boris Johnson has made a million on the speaking circuit, while being paid as an MP.

The public should not have to pay for Boris Johnson's legal fees

While people up and down the country followed the rules, made sacrifices and lost loved ones Boris Johnson held parties - and then lied about it. I don't want a penny of the tax I pay on my NHS wage to be spent defending a wealthy former Prime Minister who broke Covid lockdown rules while my colleagues were risking their lives. And right now so many Brits can't afford to eat or heat their homes, they do not need another expense. Most of us were brought up to believe that when we were found...

The UK can afford public sector pay rises. Here's how

OPINION: There’s one obvious way to fund public sector wage increases: tax the wealthy

Nurses are dedicated to public service.
Tories attack striking nurses but are happy to encourage profiteering in the Tory created economic crises, while allowing criminals like Michelle Mone to escape the UK and shift her cash to offshore accounts.
They say a 19% rise for nurses is unaffordable.
But who other than a Tory doesn’t believe that nurses have a far higher value to the UK than blood sucking billionaires?
We can afford to pay nurses.
It’s a Tory choice.

Pay £400 energy payments to Northern Ireland households as soon as possible

National Energy Action (NEA) NI research is showing that 80% of households here have already cut down on their central heating, and most worryingly more than 1 in 10 households have had to forego meals to meet the rising energy costs. NI householders have received significantly less help in the energy crisis than those in England Scotland and Wales. They did not benefit from the £150 council tax rebate and nor do they benefit from Household Support Fund. Furthermore, NI homes are not part...

This Twitter fiasco is a reminder of who is *actually* critical to the survival of our economy & society.

Twitter worked before the billionaire got here. Now that workers are gone, Twitter is collapsing. Workers made Twitter work—a billionaire broke it.
