You can't just get rid of whole groups of people you don't like or don't get along with. You have to learn to live with them. And you don't even know all of them. You can't. It's not possible. So, you don't even realize that you are one of them. There is a YOU in the group of people. And if you become a part of a people who is willing to do this kind of thing? There is nothing to prevent you from being next. Because you exit humanity through that door.

The DOE issued several Direct Final Rules (DFRs) that remove opportunities for girls and women to participate in educational programs that seek to increase their participation in fields where they are underrepresented; remove opportunities for girls and women to play sports; and remove regulations that address the unfair, discriminatory impacts of policies and practices that harm underserved communities, particularly communities of color.

While I'm at it, the loss of Brian Wilson is also very sad but he had a good long life.

I'm very sad today about the loss of one of my favorite musicians, Douglas McCarthy. Lead singer and founder of Nitzer Ebb. Nitzer Ebb were a big influence on countless musicians, including seminal Detroit Techno artists.

I was fortunate enough to have known Douglas in the 90s when he lived in Detroit. He was a great musician and a lovely human. Sending love to his family, friends, and everyone who loved him.

“Musical revolutionaries Sly Stone and Brian Wilson leave life’s stage nearly simultaneously”

https://apnews.com/article/brian-wilson-sly-stone-deaths-impact-496efc054cf0973bd385ede87bd9437f

Sly Stone and Brian Wilson both revolutionized music

Sometimes death, as life, brings strange symmetries. Two music revolutionaries, Sly Stone and Brian Wilson, both died within two days of each other. Each was 82. Each also shared similar stories — reaching great heights of power and creative influence, both to lose them suddenly, in sordid stories of addiction and mental illness. Wilson birthed the California sound, yet his compositional gifts for melody proved deeper then imagined. Stone brought the races, sexes and musical styles together in a joyous and breathtaking blend. The work will remain, as one senses the tragedies in their lives will recede with time.
